2 Shiurim: "Connective Speech" and "Why Do We Daven?"

The Rebbe was talking about making the Master of the World a more significant and intrinsic presence in our lives. He said, "We should be talking to the Ribono Shel Olam constantly, about everything. We should be carrying an ongoing discourse with the Ribono Shel Olam."

"All day?" asked one of the chassidim, next to certain of the reply.

The Rebbe, in his inimitable way, didn't let anyone down. "All day!" he answered, with the utmost certainty.

Yesterday's and today's morning shiurim were exceptionally fundamental and important. The topics discussed revolved around the nature of the power of speech and why speech occupies such a large place in avodas Hashem, and more specifically in Chernobyler seforim. The Rebbe explained the connection between speech, Klal Yisroel and the Divine Presence in this world, what real speech is supposed to be, and how our speech reflects where we stand in our relationship to Hashem and others.

Today was in many ways a continuation of yesterday's shiur about speech and relating. Questions and complaints like: "Why do we daven if Hashem knows what we need?", "Davening is just mumbling; people don't connect with what they are saying anyways", and "I don't feel Hashem in anything that I do" are unfortunately issues that everyone can, in one way or another, relate to on some level. The Rebbe addressed these and more while continuing the themes from the previous day's shiur.
